Carbon nanotubes tend to aggregate, so you need some way of keeping them separated. If your lubricants have high viscosity, once you get the nanotubes dispersed, they will probably remain dispersed. Therefore, it depends on what kind of lubricants. Another strategy would be to wrap the nanotubes with a polymer. That could alter the properties of the nanotubes. What properties of the nanotubes are important to you?

Do you want the nanotubes for their mechanical strength? Would it be acceptable if they are wrapped in a polymer?
