If you mean how the world records have progressed Wikipedia is a good start for instance this is the 100m http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_record_progression_100_metres_freestyle If you want something more official try FINA.
I’m interested in a time distance recording so I will be able to find a link between the progression and the stroke change’s for à professional swimmer in à 50 m course; for example.
Most of the time, these time recordings are shown on a screen but not the distance the swimmer has swam.
If you can't get the actual splits from FINA if you can get access to video footage there are techniques you can use to estimate distance traveled from uncalibrated camera. The most basic of which would be to use the lane rope markings which are placed definitive distances apart.
The Dutch Olympic Training Centre has LED-lights moving up and down the bottom of the training pool. They can set the speed of these training LED's to match a specific record. I expect that they have a database with data of each lane. They have calibrated camera's in this training pool to record the actual speed and multiple additional factors like diving angle, diving depth stroke frequency etc. I am not sure whether they are willing to share all of their data. I can imagine that they can share the basic data of lane times. The website of our training facility is http://www.swimcentre.nl/en/, you can find contact information on that website.
