In my experiments, I isolated activity compounds from some plants. But the activity parts are condensed tannins and can't be made pure by macroporous resin, silica gel and Sephadex LH-20. What can I do? Can I get some compounds from condensed tannins?
This condensed tannins resolved water and ethanol a little. It can't be moved at TLC assay even use CHCl3:CHOCH3:H2O=65:35:1 and other higher polar developing solvent. It appeared 4 peaks when isolated it with HPLC.
CT s are large molecules and very difficult to resolve in its natural forms. For the characterization
1. hydrolysis with phloroglucinol and profile the products.
2. Estimate the degree of polymerisation of CTS
