I am currently working on thermochromic W-doped VO2 smart window.
Now, I would like to do simulation to know the transmittance of w-doped vo2 thin film by using FDTD solutions.
I have tried to find out the way to get optical property of w-doped vo2 thin film but there is only experimental simulation (they got optical constant from the experiment) not numerical simulation.
I hope I can know the way to get optical property through caliculation only.

You may use the spectrophotometer to measure the reflectivity, both total or diffuse as a function of the wavelength.
Specular reflectivity will be then the difference between Rtot and R diff: Rspec=Rtot - R diff. With the special accessory you may be able to measure R spec. directly.
If you have your thin film on some transparent substrate, then you can measure the transmission of the thin using again, the dedicated spectrophotometer.
Using spectroscopic ellipsometer you will be able to measure the reflectivity of polarized light as a function of impinging angle and the wavelength.
