I need to model a graded transition joint, and need material properties as a function of composition and temperature.
As an example of functionally graded transition joints you may use the experimental data (Young modulus versus depth) for joint cartilage presented in paper "The Role of Liquid Phase and Porous Structure of Cartilage in Formation of Biomechanical Properties of Joints. Part 2" by Suslov A.A., et al. The theoretical estimations of mechanical characteristics of gradient materials are based on micromechanical models of composites (see the attachment). These models allow us to calculate Young modulus versus filler content using gradient approximation of "layer by layer" type.

Thank you for your response. The first paper is by my adviser, I am continuing that project. I will take a look at the Thesis by Goupee, it looks promising.
To provide more details, I need to experimentally extract properties of steel as a function of composition and temperature. We would rather not predict them. Yield, Strength, Young/s modulus, CTE, Tensile, work hardening rate, etc
