I would like to save my contour image file for every required time step ( unsteady state ) simulation. can any one suggest me how to implement. with out doing manual work, importing data file to fluent for every time step .
After completion of simulation i want to export all my contour images ( at defined time step). I am trying to implement, like Calculation activity>solution animation> create> giving time step 500> define my contour image ( like pressure, velocity ). I am failing to import. after completion of simulation it is showing like each time step like a frame. If i use forward option i can observer number of frame option. I want to import those frame.

If this thread still generates interest especially in drawing a contour plot on a plane in a 3D model in run time through "execute commands" panel, follow the below set of commands:
command 1: display set-window xx (xx -> window number)
command 2: display set contours surface yy (surface id = yy)
command 3 display set contours filled-contours yes
command 4: display contour zz vof 0 1 (contour of volume fraction field (vof) of zz phase, min = 0, max = 1)
command 5: display hard-copy "vof-%t.jpg" (save the image file in .jpg format)

If You want to check every time step individually , for example, You can Save data file every one time step (calculation activities -> autosave). If You want to have this pictures in .tiff on Your hard disc, You have to write in a calculation activites a short command (in execute command window) for eg. "/display/hc "***%t.tiff"", where *** is a first three letter of the file name. You also define how often the pictures have to be saved ( eg. for every one iteration, or time step ). You can find this files in the catalog dp0/FFF/Fluent. Don't forget to display the contours before start the simulations (it is sometimes important - it depends on the Fluent version You use)

You can find it like on the screenshot - remember you have define how much commands You write and you need to activate the command
Dear Przemyslaw Mlynarczyk, for 3d case, if i want fluent record only x-y plane for example, how to do that?
i've tried to follow your suggestion above, but the contours provide me 3d picture as not my expected

For those whom it may help.
I had the same problem and based on the answer of Przemyslaw resolved the issue.
I have two active windows during the simulation: "Scaled Residuals" - window ID 1 and "Contours of Volume Fraction (phase-air)" - window ID2.
I obviously want to export volume fraction contours - not scaled residuals. But when I used the command offered by Przemyslaw I kept exporting scaled residuals.
If you have several windows during the simulation, first thing you need to do is to set the window you want to export picture from. Then export it.
For that purpose you have to use 2 commands.
First command is:
/display/set-window 2 ---> here "2" is the number of the window I want to export picture from
Second command is the one offered by Przemyslaw:
/display/hc "gasfraction_%t.jpg" ---> here "gasfraction" is the file name you choose, "%" is the command which automatically appends flow time to your file name.
