Dear All,
I am new in urban heat research. I wonder to know If I have only 3 periods of land use map 1990, 2000 and 2010 (GIS vector shape file) and monthly temperature data (maximum and minimum). How could I estimate urban heat by using any GIS extension.

I dont know if i understood well your question, but there is a heatmap Plugin in QuantumGis software.

You need first to install the software of corse (same website, its a freeware)

In QGIS 3.4.5 its already as "Heatmap" implemented, its in the vector analysis menu. :)
If possible, in my private opinion, could you try to convert from shape file to raster then use the extraction tool in raster analysis in arcgis then to get data.
Using Heat map in Qgis by Kernel method is the best solution.
After you can convert the raster rsult into vector if you need, by the tool of conversion in Qgis : raster to vector.

the input dataset vector or raster, you may be harmonized according to your purpose.

Sujit Sikder, Yes I want to find a relationship between land use change and UHI. I have only temperature data from 3 meteorological station in urban province. I am not an expert in remote sensing also. Anyway, I will study your suggested literatures first.
