At its native range of distribution, Pomacea canaliculata buries from Autumn through late Spring. I would like to estimate the secondary production of this species using the Hynes method (size-frequency method), but I don't know how to do it since that method follows the cohorts through the year. May I use it only with data from the period when the species is "out"?

Is there another way for estimating secondary production?

Thank you!
