How can I estimate/measure the effective area of contact between particles in a powder or printed network?
BET why not, but it is possible to get by TEM or not?
What is your specific case?
If I am not wrong, there are ''gas sorption'' measurements (eg. Ar(g) sorption) (Sbet=.....m^2/g) with which you can estimate it! But it depends on the specific surface (eg. hydroxyls, etc.)

There are many reports of area measurements in the literature.
The problem is not of easy solution!
My suggestion is the following.
We can assume that the area of contact is equal to:
Contact area = Surface area - Area of the pores
Surface area = Total area of the particles not in contact
Area of the pores = Area of the pores when the particles are in contact
The first one can be measured by BET, the second one can be estimate by measure of porosity using the mercury method.
Both the measures have an interval of error so the results are not perfectly correct.
