Among the sources of GHG, irrigated rice fields are on of the most important sources of CH4. I want to estimate the amount of diurnal Co2 and CH4 emissions from an irrigated rice paddy. Which variables do I need to calculate for an acceptable estimation? Is it possible to estimate the emission without a field campaign?
Can someone introduce me a useful book or paper?

It's is possible to used some models, DNDC (Denitrification -Decomposition) model in particular. Basically, you need data of soil characteristics, meteorological variables and some other environmental parameters. It can also be able to estimate N2O effectively. Please google as key world "DNDC model', you can find more than guideline. Best.
One more thing that you can use model without field measurement. However, you should do field work because it can provide actual results, then you can compare/calibrate your modelled results. Thus, you can see how model work and modelled results are acceptable or not?
