Hi, I want to test my plant extracts as a corrosion inhibitor in an acidic medium (HCl 1M). For that I prepared plant extracts in MeOH / water (80/20) and evaporated solvents but my extracts are not soluble in this medium, how to dissolve them?

Hi Souad,
Since your compound is soluble in aqueous methanol (80/20).You can dissolve extracts in IM methanolic HCl instead of aqueous 1M HCl. For this you need to prepare 1M HCL in methanol medium.
If you are looking to dissolve in basic medium I would suggest you to go for methanolic Sodium/Potassium hydroxide.These base can be best prepared in methanol.
