How can I determent baseline in arabic printed writing ?

One of the most often used method is called projection profil, which produce a histogram that contains the number of black pixels (text) in each line or colomn.

So fo printed arabic script, first you have to remove diacratical points and then use horizontal projection profil, this will give you an estimation about the text lines.
