I recorded the ECG of rats using Adinstrument Powerlab device with 3 electrodes, and started to analyze the recorded ECG manually. I want to identify the abnormality in R wave that seems to be fluctuating with low and high amplitudes alternatively. I suggested that could be a Poor (slow) R Wave Progression but all explanation data regarding this was with 12 lead ECG not 3 leads ECG. is there any suggestions to explain this abnormal change in R wave amplitudes.
More likely the fluctuating amplitudes in the R wave are related to respiratory variations and not to actual loss of electrical forces.
Dear It seems not actual R wave progression. Poor R wave progression is not like alternative low and high amplitude of R wave. Usually Amplitude of R wave increases from V1 to V6 but in case of pathology of Heart like RVH , LVH ,Acute MI , amplitude of V3 will be less than V2 . It might be some artefact
Alok Kumar Bharti thank you for explanation. The point is I recorded the ECG with 3 lead ECG not the 12 lead ECG. However, the fluctuation in R amplitude is might be related to the respiratory rate. Thank you again.
In poor R wave progression, amplitude of R wave in lead 3 will be less than V2 . Actually reverse of normal R wave progression from V1 to V6
