How can i convert the .txt data to .DAT data?

I have text .txt format data with 24 column and 1000 row and i want to change it to .dat format in order to use as an input data for some software..

I find the good software that could be used for converting most of data with different type .... "Geopsy" ... it is free to download and use

it should be mentioned that Geopsy have lots of ability such as inversion, F-K, dispersion curve, particle motion and etc.
