I am working on a closed-loop system which has a PI controller. I have made a Simulink environment for the overall scenario but now I want to optimize the coefficients of the PI controller through an optimization Algorithm which will be having a Matlab code. So, can anybody help in this regard?
Matlab/Simulink has its own PID tuning solutions it might be an idea to check those.
If not, I think the way to go would be to run simulation programatically:

and then you can hook up your optimizer to change the appropriate Simulink block's parameter before every execution of the simulation:

Matlab has built-in optimization tools, and there are also lot of ways to make a matlab script interact with external programs.

Yes, there is a separate toolbox for tuning of PID controllers one of them is Genetic Algorithm but i am trying other optimization algorithms for tuning of PI controller in Simulink.
