Hi all, I am designing a solar cooker with thermal storage and when I start from the cooking requirements, the meal is composed of 2 to 3 inputs (items to be cooked) in addition to water having different Cp values. so, is there any way to approximate the heat required for cooking?

the energy in kJ you need for cooking must be the summation of mxcpxdt for every items to be cooked. m is the mass of every item, cp is the thermal capacity of every item and dt is the differences between temperature of boiling water and room temperature. you need to add the latent heat of the water consumed during the process and some level of thermal losses
Thanks @RubenBorrajo it helps alot. If you don't mind, can you add a little on the latent heat part. I mean, is it ok to take some percent of latent heat b/c I don't have that mass or do i need to conduct a test to determine the vaporized mass?
probably you need to know how much water you are losing by evaporation but it not complicate if you know the power of the stove. when the water begin to boil all power requirements are just for water evaporation and heat losses
