I have tried many ways but some programs give me a gray color empty screen and another just exit the code detecting camera can not be accessed but couldn't find a solution even though program are successfully build in opencv.
I am using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 with Opencv 2.4.3

I’ve used 4 different IP cams through my work and all of them could be accessed via http protocol. I could select a type of video stream, like mpeg, mjpeg or simple jpegs.
First one is just a video stream, but last two are jpeg images. In this case, a software has to periodically send a http request (GET) to simply obtain a new file from www. In case of mjpegs – its a stream of separate jpegs files with a http prolog for every frame. Client sends one request, at the start, and server (ip camera) just sends images over and over. And since you have a classic jpeg file in a memory buffer, you can load it into Mat object. However I don’t remember whether you need an opencv plugin to load a jpeg from memory buffer..

I am missing something when im using it with my camera.
It probably depends on your camera's security settings (this 88888:88888). Turn it to unrestricted access and at this point obtain a URL link, something like http://192.168.1.19/frame.jpg or http://192.168.1.19/video.mjpeg. If you put those links into web browser, it will show you an image (in first case) and a movie (in latter).
You can always setup security when you have working communication.
I'm using Firefox which has a capability of showing mjpeg video stream.

when i use the internet explore to do the real time streaming. when i enter the IP address http://192.168.1.19 they ask for the username and the password which is 888888 for both. then it automatically start to stream. this was build for the camera.

I am trying to access an IP camera directly from OpenCV as well. I have decided to use the LIVE555 library. This is the library on top of which VLC streaming capabilities are implemented. It allows you to access password-protected IP cameras as well as stream from multiple cameras. Note that, in addition to the LIVE555 library, you must point the compiler to the location of the Windows networking library.
To access an IP cam you have to first find the videofeed provided by your IP cam. Videofeed is the type of formats your IP cam support. For example mpeg, 3gp, etc. this are the formats of video, and with each of this format an IP address is associated with your camera. If you are able to find the IP address of particular format which you want, then you can simply replace the name of camera in OpenCV code by the IP address.
The IP address looks like: "http://username:[email protected]:8080/mjpg/video.mjpg".
You can find this IP address associated with your camera online through various websites or there are softwares that provides us with this links
You can also use the RTSP protocol for realtime streaming. If you want to just capture the snapshots, replace the IP address video string with that of jpeg fromat.
