I am comparing heat input during FSW and TIG welding of Al alloy. Welding speed was 41 mm/min in case of FSW and 150 mm/min in TIG. Heat input in J/s (watt) is more in case of TIG as compared to FSW. But trend of heat input is reversed if we divide the heat input (J/s) by welding speed (mm/s) to get the result in kJ/mm. The difference between welding speeds of both processes is large that resulting in to the more heat input (kJ/mm) in case of FSW as compared to the TIG. I want to find the heat input in kJ/mm without reversing the trend.
How these heat inputs can be correlated to the cooling rate?
