I have the following information about medication t1/2, Cmax, T max and time since the last dose . How can I decide if the concentration is within the therapeutic window as I do not know the therapeutic range?
A plasmatic concentration vs time curve is not enough to obtain the therapeutic range. You need a pharmacodynamic study to obtain values such as LD50, ED50 leading to the therapeutic index of your drug. A therapeutic dose D will produce a therapeutic response without causing toxic side effects, that is Cmax will be inside the therapeutic window. If your drug pharmacokinetics is linear and if you administer a higher dose, Cmax will increase (and consequently AUC of plasmatic concentration vs time) but Tmax and T1/2 won't change...PK alone is not sufficient to decide if a concentration is optimal
The Pharmacokinetic profile will not provide the therapeutic range, you may have to carry out pharmacodynamic studies. Wondering whether the medication you mean is a new drug moiety?
