novelty comes with a broad concept of collecting ideas and testing them. This field, to create novelty, needs a broad design of variables, testing their dependences and possibilities, their is much financial investigation necessary, seldom small or economic weak companies have only limited to build up such field. But nothing is impossible. The question is in touch with creativity research.

I think size of a company is very important factor, and I agree with you that larger organizations are more able to create innovation as they have larger pool of resournces and stronger financial budgets for improvements. For me start, I think I need to read more of the relationships between size and antifragility capability. Antifragility is not beyond resilience; it is different. While the antifragile company has a great ability to handle the environmental impacts without change in operations, the resilient is flexible and can bounce back after an event.

The antifragile one is like a strong concrete column, the resilient one is like willow tree branches, they are flexible and if you cut, they regrow on a faster rate and become stronger.

The antifragile focuses on the way of the operations and supply chains, while the resilience focuses on the function. E.g. power outage. You need heating. If you can heat by fuel wood or survive without heating you are resilient. Stronger electric cables (antifragile) or more electric suppliers (robustness) won't solve the issue, but you can have the same function (heating) from another source.

There is no such a correlation that antifragility, resilience or robustness (it is a possible element of resilience anyway) is the better for an organization. It depends on the organization and the situation.

Look at Kodak. They are resilient. After the instant pictures gone they saved their patents and knowledge and continue to prosper as Eastman Chemical company.

I think antifragility can be a good method up to a level of change in the environment. Beyond, resilience pays better.

Innovation, it looks a resilient organization better in that, pulled by the market changes and does not want to keep the current product, service or market share.
