I know MGH has been doing proton radiosurgery for many years, but I'm not sure about many of the newer centers. Are they doing single-fraction proton treatments? Are they using stereotactic frames or doing image guidance?
iThemba continues with high-precision stereotactic radiosurgery with protons. Treatments vary from 1 to 7 fractions, depending on the patient and pathology. We use a bite-block based stereo-photogrammetric patient-positioning system. Two of us will be at PTCOG in San Diego next month, so you can discuss any detailed questions you might have there. Anything I can answer in the meantime, you're welcome to ask.
Do you mean 1 fraction SRS? Or SBRT? And for CNS? Probably would ask Lia. I know MDACC is doing proton SBRT for lung and Loma Linda starting for liver (all of which I think are bad ideas without CBCT verification).
