I have been learning fuzzy logic and following some tutorials . I came across with a problem of not able to setting fuzzy rules as shown in tutorials.
This is what i am trying to achieve but I dont know how to combine these.
Rule:
IF (temperature is cold OR too-cold) AND (target is warm) THEN command is heat

In Fuzzy Inference System (FIS), there are some step.
1. Define Problem Domain
2. Fuzzification
3. Getting Fuzzy Rule
4. DeFuzzification
5. Aggregation
Especially in Getting the Rule, you can design with the expert if the problem is out of our expertise. For example, if we will design fuzzy rue base for disesase identfication, we can design the rule with the doctor.
Number of rule will depend on the number of fuzzy variable (e.g temperature, density ) and how many fuzzy set for each fuzzy variable will be designed (e.g : temperature {freeze, cold, warm,hot} and density {low,high}). The rule not must be combining all of the fuzzy set. However, the expert is the people that will adjust the good rule. If you use Matlab, its easy after you design the problem.

This can be easily done with the Fuzzy Logic toolbox in MATLAB.
Follow the steps for designing the FIS.
You can design and add the IF-then rules.
You can also choose 'AND' 'OR' between the input parameters of the
antecedent.
I am having a problem when combining two elements from the same antecedent set.
For example:
if service is poor OR average And food is delicious then tip is average.
I cant combine two service elements, is there a way?

For this example, you have to do the following:
1. IF service IS poor AND food IS delicious THEN tip IS average
2. IF service IS average AND food IS delicious THEN tip IS average
Now, for better understanding fuzzy rules, the conditions are a bit more complicated. For example:
If service is poor or average and food is delicious and ordinary then tip is average or top or low
1. IF service IS poor AND food IS ordinary THEN tip IS low
2. IF service IS poor AND food IS delicious THEN tip IS average
3. IF service IS average AND food IS ordinary THEN tip IS average
4. IF service IS average AND food IS delicious THEN tip IS top
