Horticultural crops alone are not a source of this type of virus. But if agricultural and horticultural crops would be harvested without keeping the principles of epidemiological and sanitary safety by a person infected with SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus causing Covid-19 disease, then there would be a specific risk of developing infections.
Horticulture can not cause Coronavirus, but due to pollen, the immune system can get degenerated and if get in contact with COVID victims could contact it
right now there is no evidence of anything, everyone is scared hiding in their homes mainly the researchers that is why this pandemic has spread so much, when the researchers lose the fear of getting infected and find the cure, then also the doctors will lose the fear of dying and they will attend to the people
As per the latest result covid-19 virus spread either from pangolin or bat. I think there is no possibility that horticultural crops are transmitting the virus. No way!!!!!!!!
I think you are referring to the routes of transmission by touching or consuming fruits and vegetables. Or the smell of flowers. It is possible that there is a way for the virus to reach from the hands of the producers to the hands of the transporters and depositors on the shelves, then to the customer / consumer, so that in the end he can touch his face later and contact him. Or from client to client, by touching the fruit and putting it back. It's very complicated, anyway.
I think vegetables, animal meat and similar fruits from the farmers are very fresh and safe, but we don't know about the agency that markets the products. but hopefully safe. Because everyone wants to consume food that is safe
In simulated trials it has been shown that the COVID-19 virus and other Corona viruses may persist on certain surfaces for several hours to up to 9 days (stainless steel). Fruit or vegetables imported from countries with high COVID-19 infection rates will probably pose no problem as too much time will have passed until consumption. A problem could arise in supermarkets, if an infected person will touch fruit or vegetables (smear infection). If another person will consume a vegetal product soon after purchasing and eating the product raw without cooking, theoretically he could become infected. Therefore a vegetable should always be washed in hot water before consumption.
Chances are there to carry virus by fruits either at cropping stage or during transportation or selling points. Better to put fruits in salt water, rinsing with running water, properly cleaning and just drying before consuming
There is no evidence that horticultural crops transmit the virus, but as previously mentioned it is by contacting an infected person and the fruit has been touched. In this case, I do not guarantee that the infection will not occur. If it was washed well with water, it might reduce the effect of infection.
Probably not. Unless a lot of people work on these crops in close proximity to each other, e.g. this can happen when harvesting vegetables and fruits from arable fields and horticultural crops.
