The Earth Energy referred to the conditions near the Earth's surface, where most human activities take place, besides the flux variability at the TOA, it is also affected by all the system of the atmosphere and its components particularly by particles such as dust from i.e., Sahara Desert and chemical composition of various gasses. It is also affected by the land cover and land surface may be at a depth of 0.5 meters. Also, it is affected by the ocean surface plankton and ocean circulation. All these create an extremely complicated system hard to model precisely without making gross assumptions. Therefore satellite constellations serve this purpose to measure directly with proper instrumentation some of the assumed parameters and this goes on, thus, improving the existing models.
