I've been busting my head for a few weeks to finally process the correction of TOA to BOA in Sentinel-2 images. I tried both Linux and Windows environments, and the only way it worked for me was to use the standalone version in a Linux environment (I used Xubuntu).

Basically I followed the instructions of this link: https://forum.step.esa.int/t/sen2cor-2-4-0-stand-alone-installers-how-to-install/6908

I just needed to extract the files from the sen2cor and run the command "bash L2A_Process path_of_the_picture_directory_L1C", and processed it was done successfully.

In my experience, if you want to process all the bands, including those with 10 meters resolution, you need at least 8 GB of RAM, otherwise it can not process the ones of 10. Experiments with virtual machines also did not work with me, just the installation of Linux on a non-virtual partition.

Please note that the current implementation has limitations, compared to a complete implementation of MAJA multi-temporal processing. A less limited version (FULL MAJA) will be made available soon, we still have an issue with collecting all the input data (sometimes products are missing), that we hope to solve quickly.

Meanwhile the maja_peps is functional and convenient, but stay tuned to get the updates.

There are also online platforms that make this correction and make the corrected images available. This will allow you to skip these steps and avoid installing Sen2Cor (or other tools) and continue your research on vegetation assessment.
