The Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale was developed in the 1960s for a study of adolescent self-image and has become the most widely used (general purpose) measure of self-esteem in psychological research. The RSES is a 10-item Likert-type scale; the "score" ranges from 0–30, with 30 indicating the highest score possible. A free online version is at https://openpsychometrics.org/tests/RSE.php.
