This is a good, popular and current research issue in SCM, popularly also the green supply chain management. The market environment, social, and economic situations are very challenging and it is essential for firms to strategically orientate internally and externally in their supply chain management through implementing sustainable strategy to remain competitive and sustain its business. It is a bachelor degree project, you may want to investigate for a particular industry in your region; which internal and external factor particularly drive/s the scm strategically to sustainable firm's performance. I suggest you that your research must be planed step by step:
1- Firstly, you must determine all important factors in the Supply Chain Management.
2- Secondly, you must consider the comprehensive definitions of Sustainability.
3- Thirdly, you must connect between these issues (SCM + Sustainability) with strong tools such as quality engineering techniques including of statistical and non-statistical techniques.
The standard steps of research must not be neglected too.(such as introduction, literature review and so on)

Ng Kim-Soon, thanks for the idea and tips. Our bachelor degree of industrial Engineering has a lot of focus on Sustainability and Sustainable Supply chain Management. Therefore, this idea is very good as we have also studied about the strategin competitive advantage and their orientation. To write on this topic we need to investigate a particular Industry which is a Challenge as we need to find a Company who is willing to share the information. We could also write a general thesis by interview few companies but it is preferred by the University that we have a Company in order to get a empircal evidence. Can you be kind to suggest some important papers or research that we could read in order to pursue the idea as our thesis?

We need to find a Company in order to write a thesis for empirical evidence as well and that is where the difficulty is. However, I am trying my best and still focus on the write idea that will help me learn and at the same time help the Industry as well. Is it possible to suggest some papers which follow the SCM and quality engineering techniques including of statistical and non-statistical techniques. At the Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council, we see two ways that our members are organizing themselves around this topic. 1) Through a formal, strategically designed and implemented environmental, social and economic program and 2) Through a relatively disconnected, informal set of environmental, social and economic set of sub-programs, projects, etc. We see a great opportunity for a thesis that measures and compares the success of these two options.
