I am working on evaluation of cardioprotective activity of a plant extract in my treatment schedule fixed for 28 day pre-treatment with extract and last 2 days we'll induce myocardial infarction. this is routine work by all researchers but what is the necessity of pre-treatment of plant extract?
pretreatmet is only worthy when you are using any active constitutent from the, which is edible and from the natural sources. in some cases where you need to perform a typical surgical procedure in animals it has it own role
some pretreatment may stimulate the endogenous ptotective signaling cascades, thus, exert and enhance protection agaist subsequent ischemia event, rather than treat at the onset of your surgery.

there are some times which you want to test some herbal extract for the first time, and also you dont have any information about correct its dosage and levels, then you have to use of pre-treatment (pre-test) in your experiments. on the other hand, some time you need to design an adaptation for your animal model for example when you want to take some dosage of herbal extract or essential oil for evaluating of sperm characteristics in rooster, rat and mice as well as human, you have to treat your treatment for 20- 58- 35 and 60 days respectively. because their spermatogenesis cycles are these days. then you have to design your proposal at first before initiation your experiments.
