I am working on my PhD thesis and my research topic is related to High performance work systems of HR. I intend to first go for interviews to identify set of practices used in targeted firms and develop a questionnaire.Then to conduct interviews and FGDs followed by quantitative analysis. How should I report methodological and philosophical stance in my study? Thanks in anticipation.
In Mixed Methods Research, it is not considered necessary to state a philosophical stance (in essence, that was something that mostly applied to qualitative research 10-30 years ago). Instead, in current MMR the emphasis would be on devoting clear research purposes (goals) and linking them to methods that will meet those goals.
In your brief description, it sounds like you have four stages in your project, which would be quite a lot. Even a design that looked like qual --> QUANT --> qual would go beyond what most people currently attempt to accomplish within a single research project.
Creswell's book on mixed methods has has some valuable information that can help you. It explains everything thoroughly.

Think how you report your methodological & philosophical stance is depending on your Mixed Method Research (MMR) problem & objective. If your research problem & objective are aligned with your MMR Exploratory Sequential Design (Qual --> Quan) then you can justify your philosophical & methodological approach.
