I created an app to help teachers (asked for by an ESL, 3rd grade teacher) to teach short vowels. It worked on young kids but was also desgned for young. It is called short vowel mahjong, only Apple.
You can also social media to teach English which students can access from their mobile devices. See this example attached for planning the process using students' feedback on topics of interest for setting up the discussion threads in Facebook.
Many thanks,
Debra

Excellent. Please check out my paper for further information on how the app can be used positively in an ESL classroom especially in the tertiary setting.
As a facilitator one can use any multimedia source such as smart phone apps, but it should cater to the needs and interest of the learners. I have used an app called wordweb in a regional medium classroom to promote different forms of words and its usage in a context. it is more useful as well as serve the purpose of learning grammar and vocabulary in context.
