I have designed a CPW antenna. And I wanted to measure it. But the engineer said it's difficult for a CPW antenna to have a good agreement between simulation and measurement results. He asked me not to expect a good results. I'm scared. The most important thing is that I don't know why??? So I want to ask evryone who has designed and measured the antenna before if what the engineer said is ture. And could you give me a explanation?

If your model is describing well the real structure and your solutions are accurate then there will be fairly good agreement between the experimental results and the simulation. This agreement would be in the margin of the the experimental errors and the calculations errors because of truncation.
It is so that the physical model can not describe accurately the real device. Then there will be description and simulation and experimental results.
In addition to fabrication tolerances and material properties variations and sensitivity to environmental effects. Microstrip antennas are subjected for such dimension tolerances and material parameters sensitivity to environment.
There are also features that may be approximated in the physical models or even idealized that may have effect on the performance parameters.
It is well known that the microstrip devices are very sensertive to the their physical dimensions.
When you give a specification it is advisable to give the average performance and the tolerances allowed. If you want specific value you have to see for trimming provisions.

Always simulate with modelling Actual SMA during simulation then results will match
Sorry for the late reply. Since I have made my antenna fabricated, I sent it for mearsurement. I really didn't use the SMA model during the simulation, so maybe the measurement result can help me know how a SMA connector affect the characteristics. If I can get something interesting， I'll update. Thank you for your replying.
