Hi all,

Thanks for taking the time to read my question.

I am a third-year economics undergraduate in the process of writing my first, and very important, dissertation.

As evinced by the title my area of interest is China and its accession to the WTO in 2001. I will be attempting to conduct empirical research (read econometrics!) into the economic and social effects that the entrance has had on the Chinese economy and industry.

However, I have very limited experience in writing such a technical paper, hence I am struggling to formulate a model and regressive equation I could use that would best explain the impact.

So, I humbly request if anybody can provide me with guidance about writing or structuring the paper. Particularly, if you could provide me with descriptive or numerical models, notable paper or journals, or even valid Chinese data. I have been toying with the idea of using neo-classical trade models such as the Ricardian model of autarky and consequent open trade—alas, I am still not aware of the best approach.

I look forward to any assistance you could provide and engaging with you all.

Much obliged.
