I need to test foamed concrete to obtain its water permeability, however it is too weak to use standard tests. Any suggestions?
I think normal testing methods can also be applied to foamed concrete with a bulk density of 350kg/m3. Some results can be seen in my paper Tada and Nakano 1983.
It should be fine if the effective stress and pore pressure difference is lower than the strength of the concrete...I noticed that It can be a tricky thing saturating a thin concrete sample, as a high pressure gradient will create new pathways for water to get in. i.e some pore spaces are sealed otherwise.

The answer should be No! at that density, because the max strength possible will be less then 1 Mpa and the test I am familiar with you use either 7 bar or 0.7 Mpa to do the water permeability. and that will damage the concrete so you will get a skew answer. Can you maybe elaborate a bit more on the possible use, because you might be only interested in the water absorption, Those densities are normally only use for Insulation?? The above question about what chemicals are also valuable because some form close cell and other open cell bobbles
