I have prepared a ternary metal oxide, Bi2V1-xMnxO5.5-x as a photocatalyst and investigated the variation of its photocatalytic efficiency for degradation of azo dye as a function of dopant concentration (x). I found the highest photocatalytic efficiency at a value of x. This value is approximately the same as that x value showing maximum oxygen vacancy concentration in the perovskite- like slabs. The same results was also found in my previous work on the same photocatalyst with different metal dopant, Bi2V1-xMnxO5.5-x

Has anyone ever seen a research paper showing correlation between crystal vacancy concentration and photocatalytic efficiency of a photocatalyst?
