Has anyone encountered a stretched exponential in photodegradation kinetics? Or in any chemical kinetics other than dye regeneration on surfaces?
We have done experiments on dye photodegradation using ZIF material with kinetics that fit perfectly a stretched exponential. Cant find reports in the literature beyond kinetics of electron recombination anchored on semiconductors.
Did you use y = exp(-ta) or its modification? What is the shape of your kinetic curve - sigmoidal? Such a shape can described by function used in many cases: sorption processes, biomass growth, thixotropy or shear thinning phenomenon etc.
By the way: not "kinetics" but kinetic data may fit a stretched exponential function. Regards,
Thanks Miroslaw for your reply. My data fit very well C(t)/C0 = exp (-kt^a), where C0 is the initial concentration of the dye that is being degraded/decolarized by ZIF crystals.
Ok., so you do not need another equation. Of course, it is only approximation (empirical) equation, which you were used. Regards,
