Hi,

I've collected data for a variable "High Performance Work Practice (HPWP)" and it's 14 Item instrument with 5 point likert scale.

Reliability found as a result of 14 Item is 0.917

Baseline study of this variable have Cronbech Alfa lesser than this which I found in my data.

Source paper has calculated Cronbech Alfa in 3 constructs as follows;

4 Items = .846

6 items = .773

4 items = .737

Now my Cronbech Alfa 0.917 is higher than any of these above.

Question: Is this justifiable? Because mostly examiners have opinion that scholars Cronbech Alfa should not be Higher than of what initial instrument maker has found.

Thanks
