Is it advisable to use city waste sewage water for growing vegetables especially leafy vegetables containing more than 90 per cent water content? What is your opinion regarding this?
Sewage water usually contain lots of MPN bacteria and E coli form bacteria along with various type of fungus and other harmful elements. It is better to recycle such sewage waste before growing leafy vegetables.
Hira Singh the sewage water should be first treated using a biological treatment method for the removal of pathogens and contaminants before being used in agriculture - for leafy vegetables perhaps even more important.
