Google scholar included under "Cited by" a few papers that did NOT cite my papers or book chapters. This inflates citation counts of some of my publications. How can this be corrected?
All indexes have issues, and GS is no exception. On avg, 5% of all citations are wrong in any of them. I also noticed that GS sometimes assigns me citations from the papers that did not actually cite my works. Later, they automatically correct these mistakes, or leave them forever. There is no mechanism to report or fix this issue, it is a purely automated process and we have to live with it. If you want to get an accurate count, use Harzing's PoP tool and then manually review the citations for each of your papers and adjust the numbers for your cv. Maybe there is another option, and if you find it, let me know.

I agree with Mr. Alexander Serenko. One of the limiting factor of GS is that it is fully automated system and there is no provision to the authors to do any manual updates. GS may think of a having a facility to accept input from the user to correct, if there is any wrong information.
