FRFT alway uesd in LFM signal processed,and if we use this method what is need for data segment which may have all or fraction of LFM signal ?

The method of FRFT alway used in the process of LFM, and we get good performance in simulation with FRFT uesd with only complete LFM signal,but what if the data segment used with only part of LFM signal. At practices,what is requirement for data segment when we uesd FRFT? Thanks your attention!
