DGs introduced frequency variations in the network due to intermittent generation patterns. PST, which analyzed frequency content, misinterpreted these variations as HIF signatures. Sensitivity to deviations and inadequate filtering or thresholds resulted in false detections. Complex network topologies and interactions further complicated frequency analysis. To mitigate false tripping, parameters and thresholds were adjusted to account for DG-induced frequency variations. Data from DGs and network monitoring improved detection accuracy, and redundancy in protection schemes cross-verified results to reduce false trips.
