I'm struggling to find the correct English translation for "surclones".
For example, you can obtain these "surclones" by streaking an [ADE-] strain on an adenin-depleted media : the majority won't grow but you can see a few clones appear due for exemple to the reversion of a mutation. So how do you call these few clones ?

I am not a specialist in the field, but the English translation of French "surclone" seems to be "superclone".
Why do you need to translate it? Generally you can keep this term in you translation.
My field is not genetics, but linguistics. You have to translate "surclone" to English. In English there are "subclone" and "superclone", as there are "sous-clone" and "surclone". Not being a specialist of genetics, I have not been able to establish if these words in English and French correspond exactly to each other.
