I am currently doing the simulation of polymer injection into a pipeline with the length of 2000 ft and diameter 7 inch. The goal is find out the time of solidification and simulate to investigate the polymer characteristic.
Should I model it as a whole 2000 ft x 7 inch 2D? or is there any recommendation to make a proper model of this one?

If your problem is similar to injection moulding process, I suggest you can use MOLD FLOW software for simulations.

As a beginner you should first give a try with a scale down model in 2D with your prescribed dimensions as per your computation technique and must simulate it using a 3D model you can also use a Mold Flow software for the same
