I need a thin tube for in vivo study. It should be plastic (bend), and extremely thin (less than 150um in diameter, the finer the better). I know glass capillary could be very thin (a few microns for electrophysiology), but they are too fragile, and too short for my purpose.
You can find capillary microtubes used for high precision microdispensers. Upchurch Scientific manufactures and IDEX Health & Science (http://www.idex-hs.com/products/863/PEEK-Tubing.aspx?ProductTypeID=1&ProductFamilyID=5) supplies PEEK microtubing with inner diameters down to 50 µm and outer diameter of 360 µm. The PEEK polymer is suitable for in vivo studies due to its biocompatibility and chemical inertness.
Thans Pawel, i checked the website. The finest one seems to have an outer diameter of 360um, which is little bit too much for our purpose. It will be great if outer diameter is below 150 um. But thanks anyway.
Must it be a hollow (capillary/tube) or solid (filament) material?
we want to deliver solution through the tube, so should be hollow. About other parameters, it should be be tuff, and able to bend, (not too soft). Thanks.
Look here (http://www.ventionmedical.com/products-and-services/). The company supplies thin-walled PET microtubes and they have polymer capillaries with outer diameters of and below 150 µm (0.006 in) in stock.
