I have been undertaking research concerning on preliminary diagnosis of ADHD children using machine learning. I intend to use facial information such as children's facial expression as the feature. However, it is difficult to get facial expression recognition system with performance over 90%.
I wonder to feed the face images of ADHD children directly to machine learning and let it recognize the significant pattern that exists among the images. Is there anyone who ever did something like that?
My son is ADHD, and his head and eyes were always looking for something else when he was already playing with something. This was something we found out when he was six months old. However, doctors don't want to label kids that young.

Thank you for the useful information.
I think the doctor can't make any diagnosis to your children since he is too young. According to DSM-V , it is difficult to distinguish between ADHD symptoms and highly variable normative behavior before the kid reaches four years.

I did not work on ADHD. You talked about using facial expression as a cue for detecting ADHD. I work on facial expression recognition. This is the topic of my PhD. Initially we also got a recognition rate around 84% for facial expressions. Afterwards we applied an adaptive algorithm that boosted the recognition rate to 94%. I am attaching herewith the paper.
