There are many applications of GenAI which I would love to use as a student during the span of a lecture. However, the goal should never be to replace teaching and tutoring as human-to-human interaction is at the core of our essence.
These are some ideas I have:
- AI Tutor, an LLM that has the course material + a profound description of the course as context. This could be helpful in answering organizational, course-specific, and literature questions much better than ChatGPT and on-demand.
- Virtual Students, furthermore you could enroll LLMs as virtual students, which is helpful for tiny courses and could incentive peer to peer learning. Giving them diffferent skill levels and personalities would enrich the class, or at least the text group chat.
- Teach students how to prompt. Students need to be knowledgeable about using Text input-driven GenAI tools, as they are very capable of doing certain things when the wording is correct.

It enhances engagement with tools like interactive simulations and AI-driven feedback systems. However, ethical considerations around bias, data privacy, and academic integrity must be addressed for effective integration.
