About the geopolymers: The first results have not been a success. First, we activated kaolin at 850ºC for 4h: MK. We prepared a solution of NaOH (75% pure) in water in a ratio of 1/5. Alter cooling the solution, we mixed the MK with the extra silicon and then with the NaOH solution.
Relations have been MK: Si: NaOH: Water of 10:1:1:5 and the mixture has been extremely exothermic. The water evaporated in a few seconds and the temperature exceeded 100 ° C with small explosions. What have we been doing wrong?

The reaction between metakaolin and an alkali solution is exothermic. It may be true with extra silicon too. So, in my opinion, you should have first dissolve your extra silicon in the NaOH solution. Then, add the metakaolin powder to the solution to facilitate the heat dissipation.
