Epoching of EEG data from DEAP dataset in mne?

I am new with EEG signal processing and I want to classify DEAP dataset. I have a raw .bdf file and how I can do epoching of EEG signal in mne without events. Also, is it necessary to do events for epoching?

I tried using mne.make_fixed_length_events but in this method i am unable to do overlap.

Also, how I can extract labels from .bdf file for the classification? Kindly help me in this regard.
