can somebody tell me how to measure elliptical crown area in cyclamen? i have diameters (w1 and w2) as descripted in this article(Field Sampling of Vegetative Carbon Pools in Coastal Ecosystems. 10.13140/2.1.1445.3442) but my results are very high for crown area for example 100000. i want to know what is the fotmula unit for elliptical crown area. thank u

The formula for the area of an ellipse is as follows:

In your case:
a=0,5W1
b=0,5W2
