Recently I had used herbicide Bispyribac sodium in transplanted rice field for weed suppression and get a satisfactory result. Now I want to use it in direct dry seeded rice cultivation in dry season when day temperature rising upto 30-350 C. Is Bispyribac sodium also effectively control weeds in direct dry seeded rice in dry season like transplanting condition?
Use of bispyribac sodium 10% SC and its effectiveness in aerobic rice had been reported. In many weeds, its absorption and subsequent translocation to different plant parts were reported to be affected by method of application. In most grassy species, the soil application of the herbicides was shown to enhance absorption by roots and translocation to leaves, compared to foliar application. Use of surfactants and adjuvants could increase its efficacy against several grasses and sedges. In our own experiments under warm (32-35oC) and humid (85-95% RH) the herbicide performed poorly under dry condition compared to pretilachlor, pendimethalin and pyrazosulfuron-p-ethyl against weed complex comprising Cynodon dactylon, Borreria articularis, Mimosa diplotricha (var innermis), Ageratum houstonianum, Cyperus rotundus, Cyperus deformis, Panicum repens, Axonopus compresus, Eleusine indica, Imperata cylindrica. The effect of soil moisture content on the efficacy of herbicide may also be reviewed.

Bispyribac sodium is the chemical name or you can say it group name or active ingredient. Different companies sell it as different trade name.
Bispyribac sodium is broad spectrun herbicide which kill all type of Weed flora like grasses, sedges and BLWs but one sedge Weed Leptochloa chinensis remain undisturbed or unaffected....
