Yes S Kumar the answer is that we are being bombarded and that is dangerous for people as well as the environment. So we can try to avoid sources but I think we need to look to diet and reducing stress to make our vulnerability less. I am very interested in work in United States and Ukraine showing that when ionizing radiation abounds there are fungi which cannot only withstand this but use it beneficially. These are black fungi will high melanin content. My idea is that unique property of melanin is to serve as an absorper of harmful energy which is converted into beneficial energy. Edible dark fungi which are found as food species can potentially be utilized to promote health and make the body more able to cope an adaptogen. Workers are also creating cases which will shield waves from electronic sources. Try not to live near high tension electrical lines as they generate harmful magnetic emissions.

The alpha isotopes can be stopped completely by a piece of paper or by clothing worn.
Betta particles can be stopped by the walls of a room or by a sheet of plastic about 1.3 cm thick.
Gama particles due to deep penetration they present an external exposure hazard, they travel many meters in the air. Their penetration power is substantially reduced through lead surface.

By the way, in Poland some people travel around the high-risk area (villages with big tower radiation) and show the truth about radiation levels that people don't realize at all..
